The Mauritius Sailors’ Home Society

MSHS comprising of private and public sector is being operated as Seafarers Welfare Centre (Sailors Home) and the building is commonly known as Trevessa House. In memory of the S/S Trevessa

The society celebrates the diversity of culture as reflected by the visit of seafarers of all origins, faiths, and religions at its Centre.

The MSHS is a non-governmental organization comprising representatives of ship agencies, seafarers, trade unions, voluntary sector, and persons with specialise expertise.

Each member plays a vital role for the betterment of the MSHS. The society works with local and international organisations, alongside with authorities and other strategic partner to achieve its goals.

The building was funded from the International Transport Federation (ITF) Seafarers Trust – London and the Centre is operational since 2005.
