Since 1857, the Mauritius Sailor's Home Society has stood as one of the oldest organizations dedicated to the welfare of sailors. Rooted in a rich legacy passed down by our esteemed predecessors, we are committed to providing spiritual and humanitarian support to those who navigate the world's seas. At Trevessa House, our center in Port Louis, we work in harmony with the Apostolate of the Sea and the SWF to ensure every sailor feels at home, regardless of their background or faith. With over 90% of the world's goods transported by sea, sailors play a vital role in global trade, often facing immense challenges, isolation, and danger. Our mission is to offer them a haven, support, and a sense of belonging while they are far from home. We honor the brave men and women who sustain our world through their hard and tireless work and are dedicated to advocating for their dignity and well-being.
