Relocation of SWF Offices from the Mauritius Maritime Training Academy to the Trevessa House
In accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding that the Seafarers’ Welfare Fund (SWF) signed with the Mauritius Sailors Home Society (SWF) on 28 June 2021, the offices of the SWF were relocated to the Trevessa House on 16 March 2022. As per the terms of the MoU, amenities such as electricity, water, parking, elevators and security, amongst others, are provided free of charge to the SWF by the MSHS. The relocation was deemed necessary to ensure a proximity with the seafarers’ community. During the opening ceremony, a one-off Covid-19 grant of Rs. 4,000/- was symbolically remitted to seafarers. The event also coincided with the opening of a revamped fitness corner at the Trevessa House.
